Scope of Hospitality and Community Services

• Tourism and Hospitality are major growth industries and will continue to expand rapidly and create economic and employment opportunities throughout Australia. Both tourism and hospitality are on the move. As per Tourism Training Australia data up to 350,000 new jobs in the industry were created between 2004 and 2010. In 2002–03, 5.4 million tourists visited Australia and this was increased to 9.3 million per annum by 2010. 

• Community Services sector including Disability Work assists and supports individuals, families and communities in need, contributing to their wellbeing and quality of life. The number of people employed in community services increased by 22.6% between 1999 and 2004 compared with a 10.5% increase across all industries.
